The Zebra Danio is a hardy and energetic schooling fish, making it an ideal choice for both beginners and experienced hobbyists. This assorted selection features various color strains of the classic Danio rerio, known for their horizontal stripes and constant activity.
Very easy to maintain. They are fast swimmers that occupy the upper and middle layers of the aquarium. It is highly recommended to keep them in groups of 6 or more to reduce stress and promote natural schooling behavior.
Omnivorous and not picky. They will readily accept high-quality flake food, micro-pellets, and occasional treats of frozen or live brine shrimp and daphnia.
Adaptable to a wide range of water parameters. They prefer well-oxygenated water with a gentle to moderate current to mimic their natural river habitat.
Peaceful and compatible with most other community fish of similar size, such as Tetras, Rasboras, and Corydoras. Avoid keeping them with very slow-moving fish with long fins that might be intimidated by their fast pace.
Current size is 2.5-3cm. They typically reach an adult size of approximately 4-5cm.
