Founded in 1964 by Mr. Kasem Jafar, Jafar Aquatics is a pioneering force in the Middle East and the first professional company to introduce aquarium keeping and ornamental fish care in Jordan and the region. Mr. Jafar is widely recognized as a trailblazer in this field, playing a key role in promoting and developing the hobby.

During that time, he authored specialized publications on ornamental fish care and aquarium maintenance. These materials were printed in Germany by Tetra and distributed free of charge across the Middle East to raise awareness and educate the public. He has also contributed additional works that further supported the growth of the industry.

What began as a modest showroom with just nine aquariums has grown into a leading provider of integrated aquatic solutions. Today, Jafar Aquatics is known for its innovation, craftsmanship, and excellence in the design, construction, and maintenance of world-class aquarium systems.

Serving residential, commercial, and public sectors, the company delivers customized solutions that combine aesthetic appeal with technical precision, while maintaining a strong commitment to quality, sustainability, and animal welfare.

Growth & Regional Expansion

Over the past five decades, Jafar Aquatics has expanded beyond Jordan into Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, and the Gulf region, playing a key role in promoting aquarium culture and responsible fishkeeping practices.

Through collaborations with internationally recognized vendors such as TETRA, Aqua Medic, and Brightwell Aquatics, the company has contributed to raising awareness through educational initiatives focused on proper aquarium care.

A major milestone was achieved in 1979 with the construction of the Marine Science Station in Aqaba, Jordan-marking the company's entry into large-scale institutional aquatic projects.

During the 1990s, Jafar Aquatics strengthened its regional presence by delivering high-end custom aquariums for private clients in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Bahrain, designing and constructing commercial aquarium facilities in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and executing major projects in Iraq, including Baghdad and Erbil.

In 2005, Jafar Aquatics transformed its showroom into a state-of-the-art 400 m2 aquatic facility featuring 160 freshwater aquariums (25,000 liters), 40 marine aquariums (6,000 liters), and a 94,000-liter centerpiece aquarium.

This flagship installation ranks among the largest retail aquarium displays globally.
