The Glowlight Tetra (Hemigrammus erythrozonus) is a small, hardy, and peaceful freshwater fish native to the river basins of Guyana and Suriname in South America. They are highly popular in the aquarium hobby due to their translucent silver bodies highlighted by a vibrant, iridescent orange-red stripe running from snout to tail. 

• Tank Environment: Glowlight Tetras look best and feel most secure in planted aquariums with dim lighting or floating plants. Adding driftwood or leaf litter helps release natural tannins, mimicking their soft, "tea-stained" Amazonian wild habitats. 
• Shoaling Behavior: They are schooling fish and must be kept in groups of at least 6, though a group of 10 or more will make them less shy and showcase much more striking natural behaviors.
• Ideal Tank Mates: Due to their gentle nature, they thrive alongside other peaceful community fish like Neon Tetras, Corydoras catfish, Guppies, and Mollies. Avoid housing them with large or predatory fish that could easily view them as food. 
• Maintenance: They require stable water parameters. Plan for standard weekly water changes of 25% to 30% to keep nitrates low.
