The Balloon Ramirezi (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) is a selectively line-bred, ornamental color morph of the popular German Blue Ram dwarf cichlid. Characterized by its short, round, and plump "balloon" body shape, this striking freshwater fish features vibrant colors ranging from traditional gold and electric blue to midnight black. 
Because of intensive selective breeding, Balloon Rams have a compressed anatomy that makes them significantly more sensitive and less forgiving than wild-type rams. They require meticulous care and a highly stable environment.
