The Clown Loach is one of the most popular freshwater fish, known for its vibrant orange and black stripes and playful personality. They are social bottom-dwellers that bring life and color to the lower levels of the aquarium.
Clown Loaches are best kept in groups of 5 or more to reduce stress. They require a well-maintained aquarium with plenty of hiding spots like caves or driftwood and a smooth substrate to protect their barbels.
Omnivorous and easy to feed. They enjoy a variety of foods including high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, and frozen treats like bloodworms or brine shrimp. They are also famous for eating nuisance snails.
Peaceful and compatible with most community fish. Ideal tank mates include Barbs, Tetras, Danios, and peaceful Cichlids. Avoid keeping them with very aggressive species that might bully them.
Current shipping size is approximately 3-4cm. Please note that Clown Loaches can grow quite large over several years and will eventually require a spacious aquarium.
