The Silver Dollar is a popular, disc-shaped schooling fish known for its shimmering silver scales and active personality. They are a staple in larger community aquariums due to their unique appearance and hardiness.
Relatively easy to care for but requires a spacious tank to accommodate their active swimming. They can be skittish, so a secure aquarium lid and some hiding spots are recommended.
Primarily herbivorous. Their diet should consist of high-quality vegetable-based flakes or pellets, supplemented with spirulina and fresh greens like blanched lettuce or cucumber.
Peaceful and compatible with other medium to large community fish. Good tank mates include larger tetras, peaceful cichlids, and catfish.
Can reach an adult size of approximately 15 cm in length.
