Red lava stone (also known geologically as scoria) is a highly porous, lightweight volcanic rock. It owes its vibrant brick-red to burgundy color to iron oxidation that occurs when molten lava cools rapidly in the presence of oxygen. Because it is structurally unique, durable, and chemically inert, it is widely used across multiple indoor and outdoor applications.
