Anubias barteri 'Narrow Leaf' is a highly resilient and attractive freshwater plant characterized by its slender, dark green foliage. It is an excellent choice for aquarists of all skill levels due to its hardiness and low maintenance requirements.
This plant is very easy to care for. It is crucial not to bury the rhizome (the thick horizontal stem) in the substrate, as this will cause the plant to rot. It is best attached to driftwood or stones using fishing line or plant glue.
Thrives in low to moderate lighting conditions. Excessive light should be avoided as it can promote the growth of green spot algae on the slow-growing leaves.
Ideally placed in the midground of the aquarium. Its narrow leaves provide a distinct texture compared to broader-leafed Anubias varieties.
Propagation is simple and achieved by dividing the rhizome with a sharp blade. Ensure each divided section has at least a few leaves and healthy roots.
Adapts well to a wide range of water parameters but prefers stable tropical temperatures and a neutral pH.
