Overview & Placement
Scientific Name: Microsorum pteropus (Java Fern)

Placement: Perfect for the midground to background of medium-to-large aquariums (50 liters and above).

Java Fern is widely celebrated as one of the hardiest and most beginner-proof aquatic plants in the hobby.
Lighting: Low to moderate. It thrives in low-light setups and can easily grow in standard room lighting or shaded areas of the tank.
CO2 & Nutrients: Not required. It grows well without carbon dioxide injection. However, it benefits from occasional liquid water column fertilizers, as it pulls its nutrients straight from the water.
Water Conditions: Temperature of 22–28°C (72–82°F), with a highly adaptable pH tolerance spanning 5.0–8.0.
