Discus X Protect X is a versatile Chloramine-T based disinfectant used for sterilizing aquarium equipment and treating external pathogens. It is considered a safer alternative to harsh chemicals like potassium permanganate while remaining effective against a wide array of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and external parasites.

Primary Uses

• Broad-Spectrum Treatment: Targets external issues such as white spot (ICH), velvet, fin rot, body fungus, and gill/body flukes.
• Sterilization: Used to disinfect empty tanks, ponds, nets, and other aquarium equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
• Quarantine Support: Often used to prophylactically clean new breeding stock or eggs before introducing them to a main system.

Application

Application of this product is highly dependent on your water's pH and GH (hardness). In acidic water, lower concentrations are used; in harder water, higher doses may be required.

• Short Bath (Discus & Koi): A stock solution is prepared, and the required amount is added to a tub of clean water.
• Long Bath (Main Tank): The product is added to the aquarium, often followed by a large water change to remove the treatment.
• Equipment Disinfection: A solution is prepared for spraying or dipping nets and tools.

Critical Warnings

• pH/GH Sensitivity: Always test your water parameters before application. Using too high a concentration in soft, acidic water can be fatal to fish.
• Other Species: It has not been extensively tested on all ornamental fish; practice extreme caution with sensitive species.
