Discus X Wormer X is an anthelmintic treatment specifically designed for ornamental fish to eliminate internal roundworms (nematodes). Its active ingredient is Levamisole HCL, which is highly effective because it paralyzes the worms, allowing the fish to expel them.

When to Use Wormer X

Use this treatment if you observe signs of a parasitic nematode infestation, such as:

• Visible Worms: Red, thread-like worms (Camallanus) protruding from the fish's anus.
• Wasting Disease: Fish that appear skinny, lethargic, or have a "pinched" stomach despite eating.
• Abnormal Waste: Dark or dull body color accompanied by white or stringy feces.
• Specific Parasites: Effectively treats Capillaria, Camallanus, Acanthocephala, and Discus Maggot.

Usage Instructions

Wormer X can be used as a water bath or mixed into food. It is generally safe for plants, snails, shrimp, and the biological filter.

• General Application: The treatment is added to the aquarium water, with dosages based on the specific parasite being treated, such as for Camallanus or other nematodes.
• Protocol:
1. Clean the tank and perform a water change before starting.
2. Add the treatment to the water and leave for 24–48 hours.
3. Perform a 70–100% water change to remove expelled worms.
4. Repeat: A second treatment is necessary after 12–14 days to target newly hatched worms, as Levamisole does not kill eggs.

Important Tips

• Stop Feeding: It is recommended to stop feeding during the 48-hour treatment period to maintain water quality.
• Light Sensitivity: Levamisole can be sensitive to light; some hobbyists prefer to keep the aquarium lights off during treatment for maximum potency.
